DECISIONS · §1.0

Two decisions every lifter overthinks.

Which phase to run. How much volume to train. Calyber does not pick your goal. You set the objective, and the engine sets volume, progression, and recovery to match it. Every recommendation traces back to your own logged sets.

We can't tell you your goal.
That part is yours.

The rest (volume, progression, recovery) is ours to calibrate.

§1 · Choosing a phase

Bulk, cut, recomp, or maintain?

Most lifters pick a phase on feeling, then wonder why months pass without the result they wanted. Calyber doesn't choose for you. It makes the consequence of each choice explicit, then adapts the plan to the goal you set.

A bulk, cut, recomp, or maintenance phase each demands different volume, progression, and recovery targets. Set the objective; the engine adjusts the prescription to match it.

§2 · Choosing your volume

How many hard sets do you actually need?

Too few hard sets and you leave growth unclaimed; too many and the session costs more recovery than it returns. The productive range moves with your experience, sleep, stress, and the week's accumulated fatigue.

Calyber starts each muscle at its minimum effective volume and adds a set only while your logged performance and recovery support it, and pulls back when fatigue outpaces adaptation. You don't count sets or chase volume targets.

Set the objective. The engine handles the execution.
